Ive set aside some money to buy a light weight/high end hang on stand along with a set of climbing sticks. Id use it as a mobile stand, with it getting moved around alot. Any suggestions/reviews on some? Im considering muddy or lone wolf.

I have an LW Alpha and Elite and they are amazing. I also have a Muddy and it isn't bad at all. I use the LW sticks and will probably buy only LW stands from here on out.

love lone wolf sticks, however i havent tried out the muddy sticks. They look like the way to go and might be a quicker and quieter way than the lone wolfs. You can beat a lone wolf hang on.

Id take the LW sticks over Muddy all day. The Muddy sticks are only 20" tall. Youd practically been a pickup bed full to get up the tree.

I've never used a hang but am looking at buying one this year. Are the LWs quick to get in place?

If you want to be mobile at any time, and be able to put your stand up in any type of tree, than Lone Wolf is the way to go! Good luck!

LW, i think muddy was onto something with that step on both sides of the stick though but i still like my LW better.

The only thing that kept me from buying the Muddy sticks was the length. I liked everything about them....except that.

    Lone Wolf definitely

the reviews on them are great
they're easy to use, lightweight, easy to get on the tree, and can hold 350lbs
so you can't go wrong with that

I use Big Game tree stands. They seem to work for me great, for half the price. I hear LWs are nice stands too.

I am fairly new to this sport as well (bowhunting) and I have hung quite a few stands in the last 2 years and here is my take:

    Stands:
I use hang-on, climber and something similar to the tree-saddle system depending on what the situation presents. For hang-ons listen to the more experienced guys in here. The tree-saddle system is very different and takes some getting used to but I can prep several trees and use only one saddle instead of multiple treestands. However many can't get used to this type of hanging system. I love it :)

    Climbing Sticks/steps, etc:
I started out with two types of climbing sticks; 4 independent hang-on sticks and the climbing sticks that attach to form one continuous 20' section.
I really don't like the 4 independent stick system. They are tough to install since you are carrying them up with you, then trying to feed them in between you, the tree and your lineman's belt, then trying to hold them in place while you attach the strap and not get it caught one your lineman's belt. But if you did go with this system go with something that has a lower profile (doesn't stick out far from the tree) like the LW otherwise install is impossible. My friend had a real cheap brand and they would sling out as you climbed...that was terrifying. The RapidRails were way better but tough to climb since the ladder was only the width of your foot and they stuck out from the tree too far to fit inside your lineman's belt.
The 20' climbing sections are much easier for me to install. The advantage is that the sections are holding themselves in place while you climb up and attach the straps. I just lift the whole 20' section into place at once. Even if there are alot of branches in the way I usually find one gap where I can feed the ladder up.
I eventually digressed to climbing steps if you can believe it. If you get the right brand they install easily and I can intall them faster than any other system (maybe that is just me however).
I also use a smaller, lightweight climber (summit openshot). These work really well but you have to practice with them to make sure you don't make too much noise. Also you have to pre-climb your desired tree to break off any small branches so you don't make noise later. These are also not good for hunting field edges since the trees usually have branches the whole way up. When I am in heavy cover branches are not usually an issue.

Those are just my 2 cents...an newbie to a newbie.
