Big Game, they all get hung well before the season. If your wanting something mobile there's better options, although Big Game has newer stands that are supossed to be lighter not sure they'd still be best option for a lot of moving around. Dont put as big a dent in wallet though

I make my own hang ons but do own 3 store bought ones. I've owned muddys and lone wolfs. The LW stands are to me by far the best store made stands out there.

I make my own as well. I find hang ons just as portable as climbers. One trick is to leave your steps and take down the stand and move it around. I usually have 3-8 stands up and move them around as deer travel routes dictate.

Ameristep aluminum bone collector stand. Only weighs 10 pounds. Walmart has a combo going right now for the stand and 3 rails for $129. Not as good as the $49 craziness of last year but still a good deal. Comfortable stand.

Do you shoot your recurve from a tree-stand... how does that work for you?

Its the only bow I hunt with so yep. Lots more clearing has to be done though and finding that perfect tree is much tougher. A 60 inch recurve compared to the 36 to 40 inch compounds is a huge difference when talking clearance.

Agreed... I got 2 stands and 2 sets of 3 rails (giving me 6 total) last season on EBay .... Can't remember exact price but was a awesome deal non the less!!!!! No complaints either... I take the rails when my Son goes with me but when I'm by myself I use my Gorilla Screw in Steps....

Getting to be the time of the year when menards has really good deals. There stands aren't very portable but they are great for the price.

I just picked up an ameristep from wallyworld for $35. I have a lone wolf and a loggy bayou predator xl already. I have two sets of lonewolf sticks I use with them. I plan on getting several cheaper hangons and sticks to put up for next year and leave them up for the season. There should be some good deals in the next month or two, so keep your eyes open. I like being able to just walk into a stand and hunt. I will make a lifeline for each hang on I get (i just started using the lifelines this year and love them).I will use the lonewolf when I want to hit some new places or if I actually see a deer to make adjustments. I have my climber for that as well.

I have 2 comfort zones and one Ameristep hang on. I hang two before season starts and use one for mobile use. I have one set of 20' sticks that I move around according to the stand I want to hunt. The stick are a little comber some and heavy but, better than having to hang a stand every sit. I plan on next season having a couple more of the hang on stands and buying a set of high end climbing sticks. Lone wolf or Muddy probably and continue to keep one of the Comfort Zones for a mobile stand.

I've been looking at the Lone Wolf Alpha. The only reason I haven't purchased one yet is I don't see enough advantage of a Lone Wolf to justify the huge price difference. The weights are pretty much the same. The platforms on the Lone Wolf are a little larger but, I stand up in a stand 95% of my hunts so a smaller platform doesn't hurt me. The seats on a Lone Wolf may be more comfortable but, since I stand most of the hunt anyways, that doesn't matter either. I have never hung a Lone Wolf but, at the same time I haven't ever had any issues hanging one of the others.

I can most definitely see the advantages of the sticks over rails or ladder sticks like I use now and can justify paying the price difference on them.

I just use the Big Game Boss XL's. Got 5 of them and one Rivers Edge on my property...pretty comfortable.

The biggest difference in my opinion is the LW's are allot more solid in the tree and are for the most part 100% quiet. I can not stand a noisy and or non sturdy stand. I'm very picky when it comes to this.

Lone Wolf Alpha hang on! I've hunted from a ton of stands….Muddy, Big Game, Sniper, Gorilla….The Lone wolf alpha hang on is in a class by itself. Yes…they're not cheap…but like the majority of things in the hunting industry you get what you pay for!

So far I've only had a couple issues with that. Since I started lifting the base then tighten the strap before jam bing the base down, I haven't had an issue with one being secure. Before I hang stands I tighten all the bolts and inspect the plastic washers.

When looking for a stand, what is the most important thing or feature you want in your treestand?
