What hang ons do you use?? Do you spend the money for a quality stand or do you try to get by with less quality "cheap" hang ons?

Since im a poor high schooler and my brother is a poor college student, we just use the cheap hang ons? The best quality cheap hang ons are probably the big dog treestands, you can find them for like 40 bucks at your local sporting goods stores.

I use a gorilla, but it is a lower end model. Works great, but the harness it comes with is worth it's weight in gold due to an ample but fairly small platform. If you doze off for a second you might be swinging from the tree.

I always used a climber, but after I found a hang on stand laying in the river during trout season this year I am going to use both.

If I were to buy one, I would just get a "cheap one"

I don't need it to be light weight or anything special. If I use a hang on stand it will be hung in one tree in the beginning of the season and left there all season long. And most likely I will haul it in on the fourwheeler, so portability isn't an issue. That's what the climber is for.

I use Big Game stands. They are most comfortable stand I have used and are extremely reasonable on price. I got The Boss XL at Bass Pro for around $90. They are all I buy anymore.

Big Dawg stands are pretty good for the money. I bought one with arm rests last year that is very comfy.

I have a low end Gorilla as well that I bought this summer. Plan to hunt out of it on opening day. I liked it when I had it set up in the front yard practicing out of it.

I've got about 30 fixed-position stands... slew of Summits, some older Staghorns, Lone Wolf Alpha Hang Ons, and a bunch of el cheapos from ****'s Sporting Goods.

The way I do it is all the el cheapos go on public land (I still cable them to the tree anyway), and all my nice stands are saved for private farms (again, still cable them to the tree).

I'll use any in the early season, but when the temp turn and the snow flies, the LW is all I use. It's just much more quiet than the cheaper ones.

I use one stand here in Wisconsin, a Lone Wolf Alpha with the LW Sticks. Its all I need here, I hunt state land where its illegal to leave stands up overnight!

My place in Michigan.... cheap ladder stands on my property and my neighbors property, no need for climbers or expensive lock on with sticks! Ladder stands are cheap, safe and about as easy as it gets!

I have a few about ten cheaper hang ons (Gorrilla and Rivers Edge) that I leave out for the season and a couple of awesome Loggy Bayou aluminum for packing in and setting up on the fly.
