Depends entirely on where you hunt public or private, mobile hunter or food plot and many other factors.

I have both. It depends on the area I’m hunting and the trees offered. If the spot I want to hunt is climber friendly I’ll use it. If not I’ll hang and hunt with the lock on. Newer stands and sticks are so mobile friendly that they can be set up pretty quickly. I rarely hunt the same tree more than once so for me I need to be mobile. I use lone wolf stands and love them. Really it depends on what you feel the safest and most comfortable using. Feeling safe and comfortable makes the hunt so much better. I wish you the best.

Hang on tree stands give you far more flexibility. Even when hunting Public Land if you use it as a Run and Gun Setup.
