Ok, so here's the deal... I go to WV and ride the outlaw trails often (atv)... but not often enough that I know the over 1,000 miles of endless trails... With that being said.. I found a guy online that has tracked over 1100 miles of trails and points of interest, in this area that I ride in... I downloaded them to my computer from GPSFiledepot...

It's a Garmin compatible transparent map...

My question is, what kind of GPS do I need to load these maps onto it... Naturally I know I need a garmin... but after that... I'm lost.

I would like to have a gps that has terrain features that the trails lay into.

I think all of the garmin handhelds will load 1:24000 maps now. Look at these, find your price range. make sure it does 1:24000 maps and buy it whereever it is sold the cheapest. If you can afford it I would recommend the GPSMap 62 series.

Go into any GPS related forum and you will find a battle over whom has better maps.

I have had both Garmin and Delorme gps units. I actually prefer the Delorme over the Garmins.

The $30 subscription for unlimited map data is really nice...

What ever you end up going with I would stay away from touch screen type GPS. They didn't work well for me in the cold or any time with gloves on for that matter.

Say I go with the eTrex 20.... after purchasing that and downloading the trails I have on my computer... would I need anything else? What is the GPSMap 62 series?

I don't think you would need anything else.

The GPSMap 62 series is a set of different GPS' just like the Etrex series. Look at that link I posted, it has all of Garmin's handhelds.
