Just picked up my new Walther PPQ Q5 Match 9mm. Topped it with a Vortex Venom 6 MOA red dot. Will use for target and home defense.

    Whats everyone else shooting?

I've been looking at the P365 for ankle carry and then started seeing more and more reviews of this sexy gal. Supposed to be an awesome shooter. I am seriously considering one myself.

I have a variety of handguns, including 2 Belgium made Browning Hi-power 9mm. They are fun to shoot but when it comes to self defense I am all about "the most forgiving gun ever" bc it doesn't matter if you miss a couple of times so long as you hit them once, game over and no one to testify against me. I recently bought a new Springfield XD Mod.2 45 tactical, 13 rounds and it is easier and better handling than the 9mm.

well yeah maybe; but that's not a 1911.
As to the Walther in the OP; everything I've read sounds like it handles like a dream. It's a race gun, not EDC. Should be a fun 3 gun option.

I treat my handgun choices like I do my choices in women...don't discriminate. I don't really have a "type." Bring them all on.
Except super skinny lightweights and big fat clunky ones.

I spent a lot on that particular gun compared to others that I considered.

9mm ammo is cheaper than that .45 ammo.

Admittedly I’m I big cheapskate when it comes to ammo. I may get into some reloading in the future.

Pew, pew, pew back atcha. Lol

And for the record that Walther is gorgeous. I have a few Walthers, both are just collectors but I have enjoyed shooting them.

A while back I picked up a S&W 9 mm Shield and put a TR4 on it. Nice compact little carry piece that will do the job when asked to. I've ran 4 different brands of ammo through it and have yet to find anything it doesn't like to eat!

The trigger is amazing. It will take some getting used to after shooting some bad triggers for years. Walther just released a much more expensive steel frame version of that gun. (Q5 Match SF)

had a XDm .40 kaboom in my hand using hot reloads- per the intranets it seems like a common issue. I would be very leery of an XD 10mm. In all honesty I don't think I would ever fully trust a polymer 10mm - except maybe a Glock.

Funny you say that.. I am converting one of my 1911's over to 400 CorBon with just a simple barrel change.

Been looking at getting a pistol for awhile. After looking around I’m pretty set on the glock 19x. The look of it is sweet. And it felt great in the hands. It’s a bonus that glock offers blue label pricing.

It has not been brought up yet and deserves to be. Glock has the best, hands down, trigger reset. Instinctively shooting and double /triple taps make it very apparent how important that is. I do own a XD and during hot range I will have 4-5 rack locks and have since day one. The weighting is perfect for me but I can't carry a sidearm that I dont trust. Go Glock

I like .45's. I have the XDM which has 13 +1 capacity and my favorite, the Springfield Range Officer compact at 6 +1 capacity. The RO compact carries quite comfortably and is easier to conseal. The XDM has had a trigger job and is almost on par with the 1911. It also has tridium and FO night sights making it good for home protection.
