Hello guys this may seems ridiculous but i wounder if you guys have any kind of revolver when
hunting dangerous game like bears with ur bows, because a bow aint that good when you track a wounded
bear that charges you. What caliber in the revoler would you suggest be a good stopper ?

I brought a shotgun with me, and would leave it in some bushes before going in my tree stand to bring for recovery, but unfortunately i never had to recover any bears.

Here in New York, You are not allowed any firearm during bow season. You may carry one if bowhunting during gun season.

I do, but i only rifle hunt bear. I would if i bow hunted them. I also have a carry permit. My caliber of choice is 357mag. Probably wouldnt go any lower. And this is a valid question to ask.

Here in West Virginia, you have to have a concealed weapon permit to carry a pistol while bow hunting. I carry either a .45, .9mm, or .38sp with me every where I go. There's a .45 that stays under the seat of my truck, a .38sp that stays beside my bedside, and a .9mm that stays under my wife's seat. I usually take the .45 with me when I hunt, but I definitely have it with me when going into the woods. No matter what I'm hunting. I would never take my wife hunting in the woods without it on my side.

That would be the bare (pun intended) minimum hand gun that I would carry. Barrel lengh could be an issue though. You don't want it hanging up on something while trying to draw it. A short barreled shotgun (22 min.) with slugs would be even better.
