Looking into a good climbing stand for bowhunting. I had an API Grand slam but wasn't really bowhunter friendly. Just wondering how you guys feel about hand climbers.. Are they stable? Hard to use? Do they hold up over time?

It depends on what you're referring to as a hand climber when you're speaking about ease of use. For instance, the Summit Bushmaster I had was extremely easy to climb with and stable. Of course it was designed this way and held up easily. The Lone Wolf Hand Climber, I believe would be a bit more difficult to use but is still stable and reliable. Again, they're designed for this purpose.

I like the simplicity and feel of hand climbers myself. I'm in the process of getting used to a sit and climb style stand (LW Sit and Climb Wide). There is definitely a different feel to the two. With a hand climber, I feel like I am in more control of that top section.

Either way, find a stand that you like and works for your style of hunting and go with it.

I am referring to bushmaster type. Looking for something portable and easy to shoot out of with a bow. The reviews Ive read have been pretty good on the summit climbers so might go with them.

I also have a summit. Great stand, very secure.
