I think, we should apply board-peer pressure and PM him, saying...."He needs to MAN UP and honor the deal campaign."

This makes me sick, I was 15 minutes late in buying it myself!

Thanks for your comments. I did ask the moderator if there had been any issues with him and none have been reported.

Message Mr. Christopher Crahan to get his email to send funds through PayPal ([email protected]) added 30.00 for shipping which I did.

Was ask to do it as a gift since the price of the bow was cheap. My mistake how ever felt comfortable doing so since he had 264 post on this forum.

With a few hours I got this from PayPal
An eCheck payment from Christopher Crahan Crahan was declined by the sender's bank. We will automatically try to process this payment again in 3 business days. It then usually takes 3-5 days for the money to be deposited into your account. Please do not ship items until you receive payment.

Contacted Mr Crahan ask why the refund. Was told that he hit the wrong button. To be honest not sure how that could happen since I used PayPal quite often.

    My second email from PayPal
Your refund by Christopher Crahan Crahan didn't complete.

    Here are the details:

I got a DM from another forum member that he has been dealing with Mr Crahan since November on another deal with the same circumstances.

I did some research on the name and did find the archery talk post that was posted. I could his phone number numerous time with no luck.

I’m not looking for sympathy just giving a heads up that you may want to be careful with dealing with this forum member.

The only reason I originally reached out to him after seeing the deal was due to the number of other bows he has posted on this forum. Figured if he has completed this many without complaint, must be legit. Guess I was wrong.

Just an FYI - this user has been banned. Sorry about your bad experiences guys. People like this clown give legit sellers a bad rap.

Did you try to file a claim with your debit / credit card provider?

Contact PayPal for sure and ask about buyer protection. Be prepared to have proof of the transaction as well as proof that the bow was not delivered. Put the ball in PayPal's court. They have WAY more resources to get their money back!

He stated he sent the funds via paypal friends and family. There is no buyer protection when funds are sent that way. That's why I suggested contacting his debit / credit card provider.

    2. Your order never arrives.

All you have to do is log in to your account and open a dispute to get the refund process started.

This is from the Purchase Protection on the PayPal Friends and Family site.

That’s only if you sent PayPal as a regular payment. Not if you sent a payment as a gift as he stated, for that there is no protection as it states on the website.

The charge involved in sending a PayPal payment for goods and services includes an insurance to counter against these situations. Sending a gift payment doesn’t include this.

That said, Perhaps they can use discretion so it is worth a try.

Either way, what is the problem in contacting paypal? Also, where does it say anything about Friends and Family?

There’s no problem in contacting them as I said they will possibly have some discretion.

And it states clearly in the “What’s not covered”

The fact is he sent money as a gift, not for a transaction, it is designed for sending money to “friends and family” not strangers.

Friends and family and gift are essentially the same and carry the same rules

Thanks for the info as I have contacted PayPal today waiting on a response. I did call Mr. Crahan at his employment earlier today. He is supposed to be contacting PayPal as well. I will keep you updated. And thanks again for your input.
