Hey all, i am sorta new to this forum but thought i would pass along what an awesome day i had in the south central Pa woods today. first off...I have not seen a day in the woods like this in many years. the morning started off slowly with seeing my first deer until 10am. after that, the bucks were on their feet all day long. I got to see it all today, bucks sparring, a young buck making a scrape and lick his licking branch on his hind legs, bucks chasing does, grunting, and even a snort wheeze! I couldn't believe everything i was seeing. i saw a total of 8 different bucks. unforturnately the only bucks that gave me shots were not legal yet, mostly 3 and 4 pointers. i had many opportunities all day at these small bucks but at the same time, it was just as fun watching them do their thing. I did see a nice shooter 8 point that i wished to God would have given me an opportunity at a shot but it just wasn't meant to be i guess. After such an awesome day in the woods, i am reminded that you don't have to harvest something to enjoy the hunt. i still have not harvested anything yet this archery season but i certainly enjoyed today just as much as any of my past deer harvests.
Sounds like an awesome day! That is exactly why I have started taking my video camera with me when I go. Never know when you want to shoot something without a bow!!!
That's awesome i basically did the same thing last week got close to alot of deer but nothing i wanted to take.
