Well, it's a milestone for me. I know I have a lot of time until December 6th, but I really wanted to be able to run at least 6.5 miles, which is right at the halfway point, by the end of the month.

I just ran 7 miles in 1:14. That's not fast, but it ain't too shabby for a slightly overweight 50 year old who just started running again last month.

I just popped some ibuprofen and have ice packs on my ankles now. Getting old sucks.

Thanks, Matt. I haven't ran since Monday. I had noticed that my right ankle was a little swollen and stiff, so I did the R.I.C.E. thing for a few days and gave it my best shot today. I figured that with a few days of rest I would have a lot of energy and I was right.

My ankle held up good until around mile six. Even then it wasn't bad enough to make me stop. I did notice, though, that around the six mile point my feet and legs felt a lot heavier.
