I hunted with an outfitter not far from Hadley Creek a few years ago and my guide told me back then that they were crooked. I didn’t know whether to believe him since they were competing businesses, but maybe he was telling the truth.

Another reason why I stay on my own properties to hunt. I don't trust anyone I have to hand over two mortgage payments to kill animal

This was a long time coming. Not many have anything good to say about Stacey Ward (HCO owner/operator), or the individuals that they are in cohorts with. It's a shame that they still have their outfitting license, as I don't believe this is their first offense.

Yes, plenty of stories about them and the Whitetail Properties crew from back in the day.

Back in 2005 I hunted a piece of property in IL. that was purchased / leased by hardly creek.
Our lease price was $21,000 between 12 guys. Property owner advised that if we matched hadley creek we could keep the lease. $35,000 We choose not to renew

900 acres, the year before a 200 inch buck was killed

It's big business now. People pay and they want results. It is what this world is. Nobody can escape the greed or lust. Take a passion and way of life and turn into a business and it loses it's majestic feel. I never have hunted with an outfitter, nor even hunted outside of VA. I may never get to and that is ok. I would not pay someone to put me on a whitetail deer. Where is the sense of accomplishment? What connection do you have with the land? The animal? Last week a guy killed a big one from the same stand.....it's like a factory. No thanks.
