Yesterday was officially my 1st ever turkey hunt but the wind was blowing like a mad man so It wasn't just too successful, couldn't hear anything and didn't see a thing. This morning I went back out behind my house and had some action. Before I even got my B-Mobile and Hen set up I could hear a couple of gobblers gobbling at least 200 to 300 yards away. Finally about an hour later one of them started making It's way to me and then there It was at about 70 yards, my 1st turkey sighting ever turkey hunting!! From there on I have no Idea what happened. Never saw or heard him again. Did he see me or did the strutting B-Mobile scare him off? To be honest I don't think he saw me but what do I know.:d I can see why people enjoy this turkey hunting, I was excited this morning when he made that 200 yards up In about 2 minutes. I can honestly say I've been bitten by the turkey bug, this will be a yearly thing from here on out I believe.

This evening I'm going to go back out but I'm going to go where I do all my deer hunting. My brother had some awesome action there last night, saw 5 different gobblers and flung 2 arrows. Missed both times!! His 1st miss was at 18 yards, his top limb on his longbow hit a branch he thinks when he released. His 2nd miss he hasn't a clue what happened other then just plain and simple missed, that shot was a little farther at about 25 yards he figured. The turkey hunting pressure Is pretty slim around here so hopefully the ones he had an encounter with will be huntable again this evening. I'm betting on that one of us has a turkey down these evening as long as the strong winds stay away.

Great time Steve. Have you had one gobble at you from under 50 yards yet? That'll put the hair on the back of your neck up!

    Welcome to the addiction.

Sounds good Schultzy, turkey hunting is more fun than what you expect. You were closer to killing one than I was this year already and I had first period. Good Luck Buddy!

I wouldn't worry to much about getting busted and not going back soon, I busted the turkeys that I killed this year 2 times before I finally made it happen.

Nothing like having a gobbler getting closer to you gobbling his head off. The anticipation makes it all worth it.

Sounds like you getting into it Steve. Just don't try to figure out why a turkey does what he does. IT WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY!! Keep after em and good luck!

True, cause I'm pretty sure the turkeys themselves have absolutely no idea why either!

Why did I say this??!! The wind was blowing and not a peep or a sight of one this evening. Oh well, me and my brother had a good time anyway.

That is awesome Steve, sounds like you had a blast.. I agree about not worrying about being busted. I think the 2nd bird I killed this year was one of the ones that busted me at 7 yards the previous day. They went crazy, one of them even flew up into the tree I was leaning against. If they aren't extremely pressured, you're good to go. Go get 'em, and good luck to you.
