Had a good weekend at the farm with the lady. Got a lot of work done, but had a lot of fun too.. Storm rolling in over the valley Clover and sunflowers are doing pretty good. Little pond management for the bass The little cats seemed to find it first though She loves the little cub cadet:d All in all it was a good weekend. Nice to relax for a couple days, if relaxing means work in the fields and woods:d Got another stand hung and cut shooting lanes back on 2 existing ones. Lots of new growth this spring. Also found a nice little spot with a "deer highway" nearby, but its on some of the steepest terrain on the property. October 1st can't get here fast enough O yea, almost forgot this dude.. He was mean! Believe it or not, I rounded the bend in the road and there was a turkey vulture, a hen wild turkey, and this guy, all within 10 feet of each other like they were hanging out.. Strange.. My grandpa found one as big as a garbage can lid a couple summers ago.
Great stuff Adam! Your bucks are really adding on some bone. We throw pines in our pond as well, the cats breed in them. Someday you will have to hang some double setups and ill do some border hopping and film you taking one of those monster bucks.
Looks like a great time. Your bucks have some nice growth In my experiences most game fish (bass) do not hang around any pine trees that are down in the water. They may relate to it some in your pond since there isn't very much cover other than weeds though?
Buckeye-- yea, It is lacking in cover in general, so I figure anything can help... I just always remember fishing Reelfoot lake in Tennessee and the bass loved to hang out around the trees.. Who knows, we'll see
I agree anything can help. I was just saying that any fishing I have done, fish relate to hard and softwood trees and shrubs more so than pine. I think it might have to do with the sap of pine trees.
Looks like fun,Great pics. I'll be doing the same thing next weekend at my brothers camp in No. Michigan.
