.... 28.5" still. I'm beginning to doubt open water for fishing opener :jaw:

So glad I live where I do (and even then, sometimes it's not far enough south:D)!

Fitz, I go to Eagle River, Wisconsin for early fishing, but we have always been going the weekend after Mothers day since we have been "Iced off" of the lakes if we go opening day !!!

Fitz what lake did you test? Hoping to hit Entry Point 16 on the 9th. Starting to get worried. Over 20 years I've never had to move my opening weekend trip back.

Jimmy, We're on Mitchell Lake about 3 miles south of Ely. Sunday morning it was 1, you could hear the ice popping as it grew! A week from now we may climb back into the mid 40s. Been snowing all day today.

Holy crap we didn't get half that much ice at all down at the IL/WI stateline this year. Our ice fishing season was pretty short this year but glad that spring is here now. Got tired of ice fishing fast this season for some reason.

Went looking for a couple lakers up here in Manitoba this weekend, just shy of 3' of ice remaining. Had already fired up the boat by this time last year. Don't think I'll be fishing from the boat on opening weekend this year, but on a positive note, spring bear opens in a week!

I hear ya Fitz! Shores are starting to let loose a tad but there's still 2 feet of Ice once off of shore. To top It off we just got a foot of snow and about 1/2 Inch of rain the last 2 days. It kinda puts a damper on late season fishing on the Ice. I'm pissed!!

Still around 20" of good ice around Detroit lakes as well. Starting to look like we may be drilling holes for the opener..... Crazy thought

I would go nuts...Im going nuts that our water temp hasnt hit 50 yet haha. I wish I wasnt a fat ginger or I would move south more for the longer fishing season. But, I would just burn like you wouldnt believe and drowned myself in sweat if I lived below Maryland haha.
