Im getting married in a month and i still have no idea what to get all the guys standing up. we have a huge wedding party so i cant afford to go too crazy (9 groomsmen, 3 ushers and the 2 fathers). my first thought was a nice pocket knife with their names engraved in them but my fiance doesnt think that would be enough, since they did all chip in to get me an awesome shotgun... still cant believe they did that.

Any ideas would really help me out

I personally think that the knives are an awesome idea. Its a personal touch and is a keepsake they'll have forever. I don't think importance should be placed on monetary value or anything like that. Its about the gesture IMO. Knives and some good cigars to share over drinks :D

Never underestimate the true meaning behind a good pocket knife as a gift. Just make sure it's a good-unn and that should be plenty IMO.

Do you guys play poker? How about a nice set of clay poker chips? A good bottle of Whiskey? Or Microbrew beer? Or a gift certificate to a meat market that has good steaks.

Amen to that. Something that will last forever. Congrats on your marriage also.

Either a pocket knife or a good lockback hunting knife.

For all the weddings I stood up in a GOOD pocket knife would have been the best gift.

Thanks for all the help guys! Being northwoods boys, i figured a nice knife would be the way to go. I will probably go through wildbillwholesale.com for the knives. If you havent heard of that site its awesome. you can get some good quality knives for a really good price.

    Thanks again guys :tu:

Leather wallets are also another good idea. Got one a few years back being in a wedding and still use it to this day.

I like the pocket knife idea too. I stood up in a wedding and the groom gave us some pretty nice engraved flasks. I thought that was cool too.

I have gotten engraved flasks and beer mugs before and pretty sure that everyone that has ever stood up in a wedding has gotten those before too.

I have a bunch of friends that are all duck hunters in addition to deer so planned to get them a real nice duck call engraved for them if I didn't go with a knife.

I've always liked the knives and multi tools I've got from being in weddings. Watch www.steepand cheap.com for the next week. They always have SOG knives and multi tools at good prices. In our wedding I bought each person a personalized gift that they specifically would use. Nice backpacks, knives, multi tools, etc. They all got something different.

I've received a lot of gifts for standing up at weddings. One was a good Buck pocket knife. Of all those things the one thing I have lost is that knife. I'd trade all the rest to have that knife back. My vote is for a good knife. Any man will appreciate it very much.

As said over and over...and over...A good knife is always great. Just make sure you remember GOOD! lol. No china blades or anything like that, get them good solid American made knifes if you go that route. But heck I love the wallet idea also. Again, do your best to go for good quality American leather. I personally hope, that if the day comes, I can do something personal for each. Example, one will get a personalized fishing rod, one I plan on probably a knife or knife set, another my plan might be a firearm of some sort. I know my goals are very pricy, not saying go for these lol. Just saying it doesnt hurt also to consider the people and think what they might want more, doesnt have to be a group deal. Would def help make it more special to know, even though it might not be the most expensive thing, or the coolest, but your thought went into each one individually. Just a thought.
