Did a little pest control Monday morning with the .270

This one weighed about 180 and had some decent teeth on him.

The other one was only about 100 pounds.

Took this one this past Monday at about 100 yards with the .270. Technically could be counted as a 4pt but ill stick with calling him a spike with two little kickers haha First buck I've ever killed. Was getting desperate to put some meat in the freezer.

First off I got skunked. Could have had a small doe or button buck but I was hoping for antlers. Didn't happen so I told myself tomorrow it's brown and down if I get an opportunity. Then I get back up to the house and my uncle tells me neighboring property shot a 16pt. I envisioned your normal main frame 10 with some kickers.

Then on the way home my aunt sent me this. Making me rethink the brown and down tomorrow

Yeah, I'll be back there tomorrow. I'll see if I can get better pics, I don't know the people, my aunt and uncle do.

Apparently a few properties to the north someone killed a 208" back in October. I can't confirm or deny though.

My 9 year old nephews first deer!

My brother took him back on my property where I live and got his first deer on his first day deer hunting. Shot it at 9:33 AM. 100 yard heart shot with a Mossberg 9200 12 gauge autoloader.

Can't believe he shot that far... Shocked he stoned him at that distance, buck went less than 30 yards. All the shooting of the .22's and squirrel hunting got him prepared!

Deer numbers were down a bit but not as bad as I expected really. Deer seemed to be be more grouped together into certain pastures which maid pressure hard all the guys seemed to be focused on the same groups of deer. I only was hunting for and hour though before I stalked up and shot him so I can't complain. I definitely thought e was bigger but I'm still happy with him.
