I've been using Gum O Flage Alert for 2 seasons now. I definitely think it's a positive for trying keep your scent down. I think scent coming from your mouth is one of the most overlooked aspects of scent control. Do any of you use it or other forms of scent control for your mouth?

I eat nut and fruit energy bars. Smells so good to the deer it's almost like baiting.

I drink a tumbler full of coffee on the drive from my house to the stand.

When I don't have the energy bars I just hold my breath until I am done hunting.

Not a bad idea, Walt... but I'm sure I'm weaving enough on the road as it is at 4:30 a.m....

I use the gum-o-flage. I like when it turns to paste about an hour into the hunt.

I do think the gum o flage works nice at cleaning up your mouth. Better than regular gums that are just minty flavored.

I was using the Dead Down Wind mouth spray but found it didn't last long. I have been mixing liquid Chlorophyll with water and spraying it into my mouth. I also take Chlorophyll capsules.

I have been a firm believer that our breath is the main thing that deer smell, tonight I had a small eight pointer come from downwind to within 5 yards of my stand without showing any signs of smelling me. I also had a six and four point downwind of me this morning without showing any sign.

I usually just use pure chloroform right when I get into my stand and tied off. I never notice any deer smelling anything :tu:

This is the first year for me using it. Already had more shot opps at 2.5 and 3.5yr old bucks than ever before. I would like to attribute that to something other than the gum, though:D:poke:

I do this too. Not sure if it helps, but its become part of my prehunt routine I guess. Always eat an apple on the drive in.

I tried the gum a few years ago. It was part of a package I won at a raffle, so I figured I would give it a try. It tasted like I was chewing on pine needles. Wasn't for me.
