Holding mine right now. Just learned to play Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. I am not a lead guitarist by any means, but some day I will get there. Did not start until I was 40 years old. LOVE IT!
I play acoustic. Play a lot of Zach brown and Aaron Lewis. Recently learned a few Metallica. If you learn G, C, and D chords you can play a ton of songs. I learned my finding songs on ultimate guitar.com and looking at chords.
Yes this. Ive tried a few times. I suck at it worse then putting contacts in my eyes. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy s4
Self taught. Haven't played much in a few years, but I figure it's like riding a bike. I started right off learning some of the harder songs. I know nothing of musical keys, tuning, etc, so I'm terrible at learning a new song without the tabs. I learned to play Dave Matthews mainly first. Regardless of whether you like him or not, he has a lot of crazy stretches and progressions I his songs.
I've been playing since I was 12. Don't play anywhere near as much as I used to, but I still pick it up some. My kids really like it when I play and my oldest now has her own guitar and is picking it up pretty quick. We actually have a music room in our house. Piano, Guitars, Drums, Steel drums, all kinds of fun stuff.
I picked it up in college and still play acoustic. I've achieved camp-fire hero status probably, but nothing more. Pick out a couple of easy songs (3 or 4 chords) from your favorite artist and learn those well enough to try something a little harder...and so on. If you start out trying to learn Van Halen solos, you will lose interest quickly.
ALways wanted to learn just never could force the dedication to do it. One of the few things I wanted to do that escaped me, I'm afraid it's one of those things like math that my brain just isn't wired to do easily.
Funny, Stairway to Heaven & Crush were the first two songs I taught myself. Played through college, but haven't picked it up more than 3 times in the last 5 years. I've forgotten far more than I know. Not sure I could make it through a singe song now
I bought an acoustic several years ago with the intention of getting lessons from one of my friends and his dad. I messed around with it for a few months and gave up because I was having difficulty getting my fingers used to the positions of some of the chords. I probably just wasn't patient or persistent enough but it sat in its case for a couple years untouched and I just sold it a few months ago.
You just want to be that guy that brings his guitar to parties and tries to swoon all the chicks by playing crappy acoustic power rock ballads don't be that guy
Hooker im 23 year old and have been in a relationship for a year. That guy died. He was a legend, but he is gone unfortunately
