gc has a funny way to do business today, seen this martin guitar in my local gc store 35 miles away so i called on it last night . http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedgear/index.cfm type in martin to see it. Talked to a sales person and he told me it came in damaged and is not for sale any longer. so i drove downtown anyway in the snow storm to get something for my son for x-mas. I get there looking at acoustic guitars and i bump into the martin on the shelf so i ask the guy if this was the guitar online and he said no it is a different one, same price but i dont see any damage to the neck but there is horrible damage on the body, large bow near the sound hole from broken brace inside the body. I showed it to him and he said this should not be on the wall so he takes it away and a few minutes later he brings it back and puts it right back on the wall in the same spot, so it was the same guitar they are just trying to pass the pos along to someone that doesn't notice the damage. I did endup buying a ibanez ael30se acoustic electric and it is very nice, but i had to think twice how there are doing business about the martin. To boot they tried to sell me a warranty package three times No,NO,NO and still charged me for it and i had to get a refund for it after the sale.. I was pissed i think i am going to call the store manager and tell him about my in-store experience ....... What do you guys think. will it help or not.
I would, you will more than likely get a free cable and some other stuff. GC doesnt like customer complaints. Damaged guitars should be marked as such, now if he printed out a damage tag and changed the price before it went on the wall (which we would often do) thats a diff story. either way I would call, and Enjoy the Ibanez, I have an aw-100nt thats my go to acoustic!
