I saw a doe standing right in the middle of the road this morning at 5:30am. She just stood there as I approched in the truck. She seemed to be licking the road or something, all I could see was she had her head down in the roadway. She stayed there till I got about 30 or so yrds from her and bounded into the woods. Weird.

Well hell, I had to stop and let one cross the road today right in the middle of the day. Nice doe. I wonder where baby was. Also had the biggest raccoon I've ever seen on my back porch tonight. I just flipped on the light to see if it was raining(I don't hear rain). Anyway, the bugger is right by my door and has opened my bird seed can and is chowing down. I banged on the door and he almost knocked the house down getting out of the area. I'm sure he'll be back. Time to break out the 22.... or maybe the 12 guage. LOL

I saw two dead coyotes on the side of the road (over the course of 50 miles) as I travelled home from work. NC Wildlife says they have gotten out of control and they have started to cross breed here. I make sure I have the trusty .45cal with me EVERYTIME I head into the woods.
