Well, I sealed the deal this past weekend on a new job.

I am just fininshing up my last semester of college here at OSU. My major is animal science w/ an rangeland emphasis. I recently got an offer to work on a ranch in SW Oklahoma. It pretty much turned out to be about the best offer I have ever had. The ranch is 30,000 acres and all in 1 piece. That is pretty rare for Ok. The operation consists of about 500 commercial cow calf pairs, and 150 purebred angus cow calf pairs. There are several thousand acres of farmland that will be great for growing the calves after weaning. I knew that this would be an opportunity of a lifetime but I took some time to pray about it. I got my answer and took the job. The best part about this job is there will be a whole lot of opportunity for me to make management decisions because the owner of the ranch is a lady who takes a whole lot of interest in her ranch but relizes that she doesnt need to make all of the decisions. This will also be great for my wife because it will put both her and I within 30 min of both of our families. The job will include a house, new ranch pickup of my choice, beef, health insurance, board for my horses, cell phone and the best thing is the freedom to make some of my own decisions on the ranch's interest.

Sorry to be long winded but I am just really pumped.

Oh yea and did I mention that there will be 30,000 acres of pretty well prime hunting and fishing grouds.

I think it was Bols, She told me the other day that she wants me to love the ranch like she does and expects for me to be there a long time, she is really looking for a very permanent postion so that in a way I guess is pretty good job security.

    Congrats Zach, that sounds awesome.

What part of SW OK is it in? You know that is where I am from. My home is in Kiowa county.

That is better than the lottery! You get paid to have access to something you would have to pay for with the lottery.
    Well played Zach.
