I've got 3 doe down on three different properties. Havent seen a big buck on any of them. Been hunting everyday I've had off since OCT 1 lol. Hopefully I get it done soon.

We are going to finish strong!

Been out hunting and hanging stands for the final push. I'll be out trying to get the GF a buck on mon/tues. Doe close to the truck will not be getting a pass from me.

    Good luck guys!

I saw 14 deer last night. Two bucks (both basket racks) and they were not in a chasing mood at all. Just fed with the does.

The Halloween weekend I had bucks chasing all over. Not sure what to think about the rut this year. Is it late or is it over? We have had steady cool temps for a few weeks now, I am guessing most activity is taking place at night.

Everyone around me swears they've been chasing. I have not seen anything even close to that at this point.

Update: Every buck I’ve seen lately has been harassing a doe. The pic below is the nice 8 I took a shot at. He’s not huge but a solid 3.5 yr old. And biggest one we’ve seen on this property this year. I’ve passed a couple more goofy racked 2.5 yr olds. Idk I’m kinda at a loss right now on strategy. Had a couple other hunters foil my plans in the last few days. Normally I have these properties to myself but there are others that have permission. Just the way it goes until I have my own ground lol. Gonna see if I can catch this guy leaving tonight and touch bases with him. Then come up with game plan for all day hunt tomorrow and Wednesday morning. Then it’s down to join the Orange Army in my Pumpkin suit. Lol. I’m taking my bow with though.

The neighbor in which I will have access to his property has been hunting everyday and told me he watched three different bucks chase yesterday.... The chasing seems to be just starting there on his end in Oklahoma... so hopefully we played our cards right this year. TOMORROW is the big day!!

Congrats to all on the bucks and does. It has been awhile since I've checked in which unfortunately means I haven't had time to stop and admire my success or others. I'm still grinding it out here in WI and looking for a buck and doe. I have been hard at it and since October 28th Ive hunted 11 days. I am off for 2 days (today and tomorrow) and then have through the following Sunday to get it done. The orange army deployed here on Saturday so that always dampens movement and wipes out the herd so the next 5 days should be interesting. I have seen 4 different shooters over this time, however, as a whole the season has been very slow. Best of luck to all still grinding it out!

Remember guys, it's not how we start but how we finish!! How much longer is everyone's archery season? I believe mine will end the first weekend in January here in Texas.

I haven't hunted since the last of November. I am likely down to 1 or 2 hunts at best.

I'll be hunting Christmas eve and I have vacation all of next week so might try and get out a few more times to get one here in TX! I know everyone will start doing some Christmas activities here soon so I want to wish all of my teammates a merry Christmas!! Hope a few of us can bag a buck during the holidays.

So this coming Friday will be the start of my vacation. We have college shutdown for the holidays. I will be making a late season push to killing some more deer for the freezer. I'm not sure what I will be seeing regarding bucks but definitely a doe will be in trouble. Lately I only have a single year and a half buck coming in, which I don't want to shoot, however we really need some meat. If he's the only buck I see on camera, he might be in trouble. When the time comes I'll make a decision. I have off until January 2nd. 11 days to make it happen! It will be the latest in the season I've ever hunted, the latest I will kill a deer, and probably the coldest temps I've ever hunted in. This is where I expect Sitka to impress me the most! :tu:
