Thanks for the info on the Sitka stuff guys. I’ve got some first lite base layers already so I’m sure what I’ll get yet.

How many of you guys use scents and what kind do you use? And if you do when do you start using them?

This time of the year I use scents with mock/overmarking scrapes on some of the properties I hunt. The scent I use is Denver's Deer Scents. It's pure deer urine right from the farm. For scrapes I use just buck urine. Soon the estrous scents will be available, then I will be putting out the scents on branches. This year I'm trying the new buck cage for scent disbursement. Essentially because scent is so expensive and I'm hoping this saves me a little money. Recently I caught a basket 8 pointer in one of my mock scrapes. I still have to put the video together. Once I do I'll be sure to share it. :tu:

I use some buck urine around my buck decoy. That’s the only time I really like using scents. I have certainly dabbled with them over the years with mixed results.

I’ve been thinking about not using any scents this year. I’ve had some luck in the past with them but not to the point that I feel I have to use them. But idk we’ll see once the time comes.

I just enjoy using scents and capturing deer on camera more than anything! Scrapes and rubs really intrigue me!

I’ve also had mixed results. None negative. Either good or not. Best results from fresh estrous extracted from deer 8hrs prior to my using it. And dominant buck piss in scrapes

I used to always hang tinks 69 around my stand. I stopped using 2 years ago and have not had any change in action. I'm not saying its a waste of money but I just never had any encounter where I thought it was a game changer.

I'm not a big scent user either, I will spray some nose jammer on my boots before walk out sometimes. I don't use any types of piss. If I was using a decoy I would use scents for sure, but my grandpa ran over my decoy with his tractor a couple years back, so that's not an option anymore.

After taking last weekend completely off, I will be in the stand come tonight and the rest of the weekend! I am on a group facebook page that connects a couple thousand east texas hunters and lot of people are starting to catch their nice bucks on camera. Usually we see an increase of bucks on cameras come October 20-28th in recent years. We have a cool front coming through on Sunday with an 80% chance of rain so hope our bucks here in TX are moving this weekend! I plan on checking a lot of cameras this weekend as well, so If i catch any real nice ones that we are going to target on the lease I'll be sure to post them. Good luck to all those hunting this weekend and good job Brandon on your doe man!

I hunted a set this morning and had a 150 class buck come through that's on my target list. He cut through at 45 and never presented a great shot (trying to see who he was/it was legal shooting, but was still pretty dark). If the wind holds I will be out again in the same set tonight. Great stand for SSE wind, but I still have't hunted any of my better properties/areas. After tonight it will be a week before I'm back out again. 3 days are lined up for next week Fri-Sun. By the way I helped my brother get it done last Sunday. We had a very photogenic buck showing up all over one of our 80's and the wind was great for a pond set w/ beans. I told him he had to hunt due to cold front. Needless to say he connected on the buck!
