Bold statement, but GSP has fought more top competition at this point than any current champion inside the UFC. I rank him as #2 pound for pound best in the world, under Fedor.............with Anderson Silva ranked as number #3. We will see Thiago Alves vs. GSP next, but after that win or lose, I expect to see Anderson Silva and GSP at a catch weight fight. I predict GSP to win that fight as well, and unless Fedor steps up after his recent Andre Arloski to fight top competition outside of Affliction (meaning unless he signs w/ UFC), I would rank GSP as the future of #1 pound for pound best in the world. He will be there in less than 12 months.
Total Domination, I loved it! Definately easy to see whom has evolved as a fighter. I texted my brother right before the fight, I told him GSP in 4. Chit if I didnt get it right. But I had NO idea he'd do it so easily! I figured he'd wear him down, but figured BJ would strike well enough to get a few more shots in. GSP was bigger, stronger, faster, better wrestler, and he even beat BJ to the jab.. very impressive win. I love the IRONY that BJ had to "QUIT" when he said on the UFC Primetime Telecast that GSP was a "*****" and a "Quitter", I love it when big mouths get stomped.
All the fights last night were fairly weak IMO with the exception of Machita's knockout. BJ was a huge letdown. The guy ran out of gas after the 1st round like usual, and couldn't do ANYTHING against GSP. After all the talk of "reinventing himself" as a fighter and working on his cardio it sure didn't seem that way to me. BJ needs to stick to 155 where he can contend and stop trying to go up in weight. As much as I dislike GSP, I have to admit the man is a ridiculous human being. Right now he looks unstoppable.
never saw it coming! i wish something would come out and say BJ was sick or something...???????????? what happened?????????
