Hello Everyone, I was kind of leery to make this post. For those of you that have seen me on this forum before you know I was apart of a different show for awhile. It was a great time, and I learned a lot but toward the end I felt myself loosing my passion for the hunt and the experience. Things just weren't the same for me anymore. So I knew I wanted to keep filming, I just didn't want to continue going the route of having a typical "hunting show." After talking with my family, I began to start an idea for a new type of show. This video is an introduction video to what my new show is, and why I am doing it. I think it is a very different concept that I hope more people can appreciate, and I know that I will get a whole lot more gratification out of. I was leery to make this post, because I don't want to seem spammy. But I would love to hear the feedback on what you all think of the concept and ideas I have. I appreciate you watching,if some of you like it and want to see more I really appreciate the support!
Welcome to the forum bub. So dont hesitate to ask for feedback its the only way you can gauge what others think of your product. It doesn't seem like you are trying to sell anything so not so spammy. Ok now for the feedback. Some things to point out. So you are out with your dog and your son looking for sheds. Thats great but for a long time while you were talking to the camera I could see your son walking way behind down the trail you were on. Involve him more if possible. I understand you want to get an interview in but at this point you need to make it more enjoyable for him else he may decide to find interest in other things. I realize that you probably did after the skit was done but you said that the show was going about you and your family. Hunting is a family tradition for most but I feel like its a slow dying tradition and we need everyone out that that can to promote it and keep it going. I realize its harder to involve others in the skit but by making it a family affair and involving young kids I think the extra effort is worth it. This is the only clip I remember seeing of yours and like the direction you are heading. Just would like to see more of that family involvement. Your interview was good and your video wasn't full of product promotions so it didn't seem like you were trying to sell something which is good. Im looking forward to see what you come out with so keep em coming. Like you alluded to hunting is far more than the kill shot, it's a way of life and thats what we should be focusing on. Good luck.
Thanks for the feedback copperhead! Yes, in this interview I unfortunately just wanted to do a quick intro, so for the 3 or 4 minutes I was talking on this, I did tell my son to hang back a little bit so I could talk without interruption. Looking back, I'm not sure if that was the best idea. If this was the only video you have watched, I have put out several more. I would really like if you could give those a look and let me know what you think! They are under the same channel as the previous video. I have done my best to always involve my son and my wife. My favorite video yet will be coming out tomorrow. We headed to my cabin for a weekend get away/shed hunt. We were successful in finding an antler, but the weekend was about so much more than that. I taught my son how to shoot a BB gun for the first time, I got my wife shooting, we cooked venison over the fire outside, and Jayden walked miles and miles in deep snow. It was the perfect weekend in my eyes. As far as promoting companies. I am not sure what I want to do with that. For this, I am really thinking about keeping it sponsor free. In the past company I had, we did acquire sponsors, and I believe we did a fairly good job of promoting in the right ways without being over the top. But still, in any sponsorship I feel as though they can water down your content. I am not sure how I want to approach that yet. I work with several companies on a personal level. And getting paid to use a product or getting discounts is awesome, don't get me wrong. I am just not sure I want to bring that into this company. As I said in the video, this surely isn't about the kill, but it isn't even about the hunt. It's about the outdoor lifestyle as a whole. And introducing as many people as possible to it.
