Well I am not sure how to say this other than to say the groundhog max if one amazing piece of equiptment. I did four plots today, all of them are roughly 30 yards wide by about 50 yards long. The groundhog tore it up ! This was my first time using it and i am not a veteran plotter. The plots I did weren't disked in the last twenty years if ever at all. 03 honda rincon 650 handled it like a glove. I did my soil lest, got everything i needed at the co op this morning and spread it all before I started disking. Gonna wait a week or two and then come back and spray. I have one more plot to do tomorrow and cant wait to spray and put some frigid forage big and beasty in the ground in a few weeks. Soil right now is almost to soft. Had to stop alot to clean out between the disks and shovel out rocks. Here in Tigerton we definitely have a good supply of rocks. Anyway, anybody who gives this thing a bad review doesnt understand how to use it. This thing is f@#$ing unbelievable !!!! I will post pics of before and after when I get back home and get on wifi. Not getting good enough signal to upload photos.

Saw some pics you posted on Facebook, looks great. Might be a bit early to put big and beasty in the ground.

I wont spread the seeds probabaly until the last weekend this month. Or the first weekend in july. The pdf download i have from frigid forage says you can plant in june / july.

I also have heard good things about the groundhog max. Cant wait to see some pictures.

I am over in Iola and I last year planted my brassica/winter rye mix early August. I kind of go by July 10th-August 10th for a brassica planting window.
Planting brassicas early will get them pretty big if conditions are right. But in your case on virgin ground, you might have a battle with weeds. I would spray here in a 2 weeks as the weather is going to warm up and things will get growing good. Wait a week again, disc, wait 2 weeks, spray one more time then plant mid July. You should have a handle on the weeds after two sprayings.

    Keep us updated.

Ya the weeds are thick, i have sprayed roundup twice already. I figured spraying roundup twice, then disking and spraying again would be sufficient

No offense but I owned one and after using it for 10 minutes the thing broke. It snapped right into 2 pieces and we sent it back. The owner said he never had seen it happened and he wouldn't even refund us the full money. Can't say I was impressed with him or the product.

Four weeks after seeding. Plots look pretty good. These were taken two weeks ago.
