Hey everyone, I'm looking for some input on ground blinds. I've never really hunted out of one with the exception of turkey hunting with a shotgun this past spring. I'm looking to get a couple before the season. I have roughly $250 and would like to pick up two blinds. Open to one nicer one and one budget one or two mid-class. I'm not sure what to look for specifically but would like them to be well fit for bowhunting. Thanks in advance for any input! Sent from my LG-H931 using Tapatalk
Most would call this mid-grade, but I love my Barronnett Big Mike with Vents. They make a regular Big Mike also. It’s roomy, light weight, has long windows that can be shot from while sitting, and it’s tall enough to shoot standing although I’ve not done that. I like the height so I have room to stretch my legs, particularly during all-day rut hunts. Check the internet (eBay) for pricing around $125 each. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Barronnett are good blinds. I have 2 of the older ones that are still holding up after 5 years of use. Mine are not tall enough to stand up in but plenty of room for 2 people to set and shoot from office chairs.
I just bought the NAP Mantis 3 hub. I haven't hunted out of it yet, but I did set it up and it is very nice. Hoping to hunt out of it on the youth hunt this Sat.
Not all ground blinds are created equal. Get something big enough to accommodate to your draw length, arms, etc. I'm 6'5, so regular blinds were extremely tough for me to draw back in due to my draw length, long arrows, etc so I bought a barronette 350 blind. I could put a cot in that thing and lay down. Tons of room. You can get it on Amazon right now for around 150.
I bought a Baronnett Radar recently and hunted out of it once so far this season. I will say I am impressed with it and hub-style blinds in general. I'll never go back to a spring type blind like a doghouse or outhouse.
Funny you mentioned that. I just purchased this model about a week ago. The local farm store has a pre-season sale going on along with no sales tax and an additional 10% off if you bought your permits. I got it for $125 out the door. Sent from my LG-H931 using Tapatalk
I’m also a tall guy and purchased a blackout 180 last year and am really pleased with it. The material is thicker than most and has tons of room.
