I am going to be hunting in a ground blind this late season. Any tips or helpful information?

Clean up all of the debris on the floor
Get it in the woods as soon as possible.
    Brush it in real good.
make sure you can shoot while sitting down.
Don't open windows on opposite sides (so light can't shine all the way through, and silhouette your figure)
    Get a comfortable.

I would not shoot thru the mesh even though some of them say you can.

Stake it down really, really well. Found my new blind pined against my fence 400 yards away from where I had placed it. To top it off it was completely destroyed (fiberglass rods snapped and holes in every wall.

I staked it well, the rope I used (that came with the blind) snapped.

If it came with little metal stakes go to Wal-Mart or somewhere and get some beefier plastic stakes... get a mat/ground cover to set gear on.

Shooting through the mesh is fine with fixed blades. We've done it a bunch. I'd leave the mesh up if possible unless the blind has been out for a very long time. The black hole will really spook a whitetail.

get a good 360 swivel chair. I only open from 2 sides that I think they'll be coming from. Set the blind up a couple days before you're going to hunt to let deer get used to it. Stake it down real well like others have said - I used 3' garden stakes. Face paint ( if you don't already) - I haven't found the deer to be scared of the non-mesh "black hole" but they do look right at you.
