i have the double bull dark horse blind and i was wondering if yal set yals up right before u hunt the spot or put it in a few days in advance
If I plan on hunting out of a ground blind, then I set it up and get it brushed in a few weeks in advance. I have used one to gun hunt out of though when it was raining out and just set it up that day.
It has held up just fine. No fading on the camo pattern and nothing but normal wear. The only noticeable thing wrong with it would be where the netting velcro is, but if I have a window open I don't use the netting anyways. I bought it in January of '09 and it has lasted through 2 turkey seasons and sat out last all October and most of November last year. My biggest worry is it being stolen since there I haven't found a good way to lock it up.
I do both with my ground blinds. Just make sure your set up is good and never get upwind of your target shooting area. I also leave the blind I set up for the day outside in a little tree line by my house for the season when i'm not using it.
I f its a good bling weather wont hurt it i put mine up a week or so before i hunt and remember to put some limbs and stuff around it
For the private land that I hunt I like to set my blind up at least a week before the season. Public land you have no choice it gets set up when you get to the spot. As long as you control your scent there usually is little to no difference in how the deer react. Some may be a little more curious, but as long as they don't see movement your ok.
Mine are sat up a month in advance. Deer around here are very spooky and if you try and put one in and then hunt within a day or two of that then you will be disappointed. It does not matter how good I brush it in they notice a change and are very wary around it for a while.
