So I am looking for that "perfect" run and gun (but for bowhunting) ground blind. Ones in my list but am not 100% decided. 1 - Double Bull Dark Horse (read mixed reviews) 2 - Rhino XP1 (sold out until July and no more dealers) 3 - ASAT Reaper (love the camo but cannot find out much about them) Any others??? I need room for 2, one archer and one camera man with a tripod. Thanks in advance
Covert Command Post I have 5 and love them and the $ is really hard to beat. Drop me a PM if your interested and I can get you a really good deal on these. http://www.coverthunting.com/
I really like the Barronett blinds. I have The Barronett Big Mike and the thing I like about it is that it's 80in tall which allows for standing shots. Blessings.......Pastorjim
The double bull dark horse is a very good blind. Bought one this year and loved it. It is expensive but it is worth every penny. The 180 degree shooting window is key for bow and gun hunting. The all black interior is also great for staying hidden.
I'm going to try out a hay bale blind this year. We have some spots that aren't really good for putting stands in, but the deer come out in big numbers. They don't get skittish around bales as they are used to seeing them everywhere around here. Can't wait to try one this coming season
I wont say which blind is best because they all have benefits and things I don't like. I'll go blind by blind of what you've mentioned. I spend literally hundreds of hours per year in ground blinds filming and guiding antelope hunters and hunting turkeys. While run and gun turkey hunts with a blind sounds good, it usually goes by the wayside after the second time you try to pack up the blind and move stealthily with two people and reset the blind without spooking the birds. The Primos double bull is pretty hard to beat. Im not a super big fan of the window strings but considering all the things I do like (I.e. cotton no sheen fabric, large and totally versatile window heights)... ill take it. The rhino was pretty disappointing to me, the one feature I did like was the magnetic windows but that was a catch 22. The magnets are nice but at the same time when the blind is staked out and taught, the magnets aren't strong enough and dont reach far enough to keep the windows closed. In windy conditions, you might as well forget about it, the thing sounds like a paper sack. The material is awful loud. Things I look for in a blind are... no sheen material, quiet to the touch material, versatile windows that stay in place, and overall quietness. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
With the rhino xp1 being out of stock everywhere....I had to go with the dark house. Thanks for all the feedback Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
