I bought a Primos Vision last year and only hunted out of it twice but I really liked it. For my first ground blind it was very easy to put up and take down. I'll probably buy another one this year, as I'm going to try and hunt from them more often.
Matt, I've got that exact blind you're thinking of "the Ground Max Predator", I believe... I picked it up when I was working a Cabela's event and got a vendor discount on it which brought it down really good. I've been real happy with it. I left it out one year at the end of season for a few months... didn't affect it at all. For the price, I don't think it can be beat.
This thread really struck a nerve with me. I had a doghouse style blind a few years ago and absolutely hated that thing. Ended up giving it away. Recently I've been looking at them again. I am considering a Yukon Tracks Enforcer or a Barronett Big Mike. Both of these blinds are 80in tall, which for me, is a big selling point. Not that I'm that tall but one of my problems with the other blind was I could never stand up straight and it just killed my back. With an 80in tall blind, I could stand and stretch and even shoot my bow from a standing position. If anyone has had any experience with these two blinds, I'd appreciate hearing your experience. Blessings.....Pastorjim
I guess my biggest concern with Ground Max Predator is the zippers. I also was looking at the Vision due to the magnetic windows, but there were a few reviews I found noting the magnets tend to rip out. Seems there will good and bad experiences with all products, but there doesn't seem to be any clear cut winner here.
Heck I'm not even sure I envision myself even using the thing unless I have a cameraman/hunter with me...hint...hint. In reality, if I'm using it for spring gobbler, I don't see why I would need to unzip anytime other than when I first get settled.
I say go for it. Find out how much you ground blind hunting with a cheaper model. If you really start to like and wear that one out you can revisit it in a few years. Just my 2 cents.
Matt, I'm serious, we're going this year. That's really the only reason I would buy another to have a mobile unit. I will set my current one out and it will stay in one spot all season, but I'd like to have a second. The zippers don't bother me a bit. When I am set up, I am fixed on a window that I am gonna shoot out of, esp for gobblers due to the decoy set. For deer, I'm usually "backed" in somewhere and am planning on shooting out of one of the front corners.
Alright, placed my order. Picked it up, a pack of Gobbler Getter's, and some Rio Powerflex tippet. I'm as bad as a woman sometimes:D
