Im looking at getting a ground blind. Im looking at a couple barronett blinds. Im looking to spend a ton so these fit the bill and they look pretty nice. One is the Grounder 250 and the other is the Wind Storm 175. Do you guys have any opinions on the blind company in general. Also if you have used one let me know how you liked it. Thanks

Here is a couple links to the 2 i mentioned

I've never heard of them, so no feedback on that.

I have a Double Bull, and it is comfortable for two shooters, reasonable weight to carry and easy to set up. Downside is that it was a little spendy initially, but it has held up really well. I don't set it up and leave it for long term, but rather for weekend hunts and stuff.

The Rhino Blinds are nice as well.

One thing I do not care for is shooting out of inverted triangle shaped windows with my bow. Too much of a chance for me to make a bonehead mistake and shoot through the wall instead of the window. I do not mind them with a rifle or shotgun.

Watch for how the windows and door work. Velcro has absolutely no place on any hunting product, IMO. My DB has Fastex sliders and toggles for the windows, and an unfortunate zipper for the door (still a bit noisy for my taste, but not too bad).

I've got an ameristep brickhouse and haved used it for about two years and had pretty good luck with it. Its been blown over and around comple times and held up pretty decent ha. The one thing is the elastic loops that hold the windows closed streched out and don't hold them shut very good anymore but its got lots of room and pretty easy to bow hunt out of. I always took the mesh down off the windows that I planned to make most shots out of and never had problem getting busted.

My buddy bought one of the barronett blinds this year, I'm not sure exacly which model but think it might be the grounder. It was out all fall and still looks brand new. I only sat in it a couple times but it seemed like a pretty nice blind. The windows opened up and gave pretty good viewing and the fabric itself seemed thicker than mine. The windows were all zipper opening so might make a little noise if you'd habeta open one up while a deer was close. And one of the things I didn't like was after you open the windows they need to be folded up to be out of the way so if you were in a situation were had to open one up to make shot I would think it'd be a little difficult not to make a lot of movement without being seen. That's bout the only thing I didn't like about them. Other than that I thought they were pretty good and it didn't break the bank so that was another plus. I don't think you'd be disappointed with either though.

Thanks this is the stuff im looking to hear. I was wondering how each of the blind windows opened up. Both brands look pretty good. Its little things like you said above that will help in the decision making so thank you.

did notice that the 2 blinds you are looking at are more designed for gun hunters rather than bowhunting i would suggest the bell bottom blind or the big mike

I own the Big Mike from them and I have to say it is an excellent, well made blind. Very simple to set up, and very durable. We had it staked down at our farm and had a wind storm come through (60 MPH winds); it ripped the stakes out of the ground and the blind rolled down a steep hill about 300 yards to the creek bottom. Only one tear about the size of a penny. We expected way worse. Hunted out of it a lot this winter after Christmas. I'm about 6'4" and I can stand up in it; I can't shoot standing up, but its nice to be able to stand up and stretch your legs during a 4-5 hour hunt. I would definitely recommend it. Good luck in your search.

Oh and I didn't mention the windows are zipper style and then also have the shoot through material inside of the window flaps. Also the shoot through fabric is Velcro, so if you don't feel comfortable shooting thought that fabric you can get that out of the way as well. Kinda noisy, but what I did was undo the Velcro when I got to the blind then when I was getting ready to shoot I would just pull the mesh material inside the blind and tuck it up with the already rolled up window flap. Worked for me in my back yard in harvesting two does.

Can you unzip the window and bring down the mesh as well so you just have a big opening?

Yes that is what I was meaning to say. Sorry if it was a bit confusing, I didn't know how to word it to be completely clear.

It was no problem for me. I used a bag chair on top of 2X4's just to elevate it some because you sink so much in a bag chair. If you used a normal blind chair you wouldn't have a problem.

I have a Primos predator den for turkey and deer. It can hold 4 people if hunting with guns or 2 with bows. Its very affordable at $149 I believe. Sorry i couldn't help with the two you selected but i just love the one i have.
