I'm thinking about putting out my blind to hunt deer this year, It is the Ground Max (Vision i believe) with Predator AP and I definitely plan on brushing it in... But with thoughts on my mind I have a few questions/concerns in doing so... Deer are going to be weary of a new blind I know that. So with the season opening Oct. 3 here, when would you get it out there or is it too late? And is it possible that the deer are just going to skirt the blind all together? Do I have open windows sporting my ninja suit? Or use the mesh?
I would say it depends on whether or not your hunting private land...and the reason I say that is because of the overall pressure on public land and the deers senses are hightened because of such pressure. I put mine out a few weeks ago now and am hoping I can stick one out of there this year. Biggest thing I would worry about is brushing it in and spraying it down with scent killer! Good Luck!
I used a blind last year for the first time and set it up about a month before hunting. I never went back out till the first hunt but when I checked the trail cam it looked as though the deer were never phased by the blind. I also used the shoot through mesh and did not have a problem with that either. It ended up being a great spot for doe and plan on using it again this year.
I've never hunted from a blind, but I have two of them. Last year I had deer eating 100lbs of corn in 3 days in one spot, put up a blind and brushed it in real good and they never touched another morsel of corn?? It works for some people, but in this particular instance it ruined that spot. I haven't tried it since, I don't have enough land to ruin my spots.
