Is there one that doesn't suck, isn't so heavy you need a truck to haul it in, and doesn't break the bank? I injured my tailbone from a fall when I was younger and have much discomfort sitting long periods of time. So far a $10 chair from wal-mart seems to work as about as good as anything else. I just have to buy a new one every year. I've tried chairs such as the double bull and really didn't care for them.

Looking for a chair that is less then 10 pounds
Has a high back a preferably a head rest.
    Works well on uneven ground
Swivel would be nice but has to be dead quiet.

I know of atleast a couple chairs on the market that meet this criteria in the exception of the price and weight. Neither have I heard good things about. Anyone?

    i like my lazy boy...jk

ummm...that's tough because i don't think i've found the perfect chair either, so this'll be a thread i pay attention to.

you listed pretty much everything i'm looking for in a chair, other than being being rugged, solid.

can't wait to hear the answers.

I have been looking at stools lately too for turkey season soon. After looking at several I have decided to go with the new Blackout Swivel Tripod Chair from Bass Pro. It is extremely comfortable and quiet and price is decent. A little more then I wanted to spend but I think it is well worth it.

i also had the leg sinking problem, and i think in my blinds i leave up all year im going to solve this by putting a piece of plywood of sorts down to give the legs something stable to sit on.

you could probably use one of those folding lawn chairs that use the two bars vs the 4 peg legs.

Heres a link to a search i did for lawn chairs that may help? lawn chair - Bing Images

couple of pics that came up...the camping chair should work perfect...

I have seen that one and others like that but for bow hunters sitting in a ground blind you don't always have the luxury of sitting still and only shooting in one direction out of one window. I like the ability to swivel and get into the right position and be able to shoot out of the many windows ground blinds provide.

They have a chair version of the the Blackout also but as a bow hunter I don't want to risk the arm rests getting in the way of my shot. I have sat in this chair many times because a friend has it and it is super comfortable and a great deal at $89 but I think for bow hunting the other one is a better idea. Why limit yourself just for arm rests.

I agree Ferg - the no-arm chair is much more versatile and more conducive to bow hunting. I think I might pick one up and see if I could JB-Weld some 4"x4" metal plates on the bottom to keep it from sinking into the ground. Time to make a trip to Bass Pro :D

I thought the feet were pretty good size already. I don't think you need to go to much bigger then what it already has.

Think I'll go with Fergie's suggestion. A hay bale would be okay... but it'd be my dumb luck to get one with a snake in it and it'd come crawling out while I was sitting on it. Then I'd have to replace the blind because it'd have a HUGE hole in it from me rocketing through it!

I could see me end up a half inch off the ground in that chair or looking straight up at the sky! It will defiantly not fair to well on soft ground.

I think I am going to try the chair Ferg suggested.

Just remember I am not putting a gun to your heads. If you buy them and they suck that is not my fault!

Not a chance but I am going to buy one or two of them and I really was impressed with it so I don't think anyone is going to not like them! I might get one of each actually. A hunter and cameraman chair!
