If you are looking for a foolproof, fast and easy way to sharpen knives and 2 blade BH's this is the way to go. I have been having trouble getting my outback supremes as sharp as I like them. I bought them last year and they are different from the current ones and I just could not get them where I wanted them. I could shave hair but not "shave hair". I had been eyeing the GrizzlyStik Razor Sharp System for a while and took the plunge. I got it in the mail a couple of days ago and finally got everything set up this evening. Ran the first outback supreme through system and all I can say is WOW! I did a few others and was rockin' and rollin'. I thought, let me try it with my Muzzy Phantoms. WOW! again. Let me just say that there is hair shaving sharp and then there is razor sharp. An illustration of what I mean is take a BH or knife that you think is sharp, can shave hair, and feel the edge with your thumb. Then do the same thing with a razor. I like to think I can get knives/BH's sharp but this is a whole 'nother level. The GrizzlyStik Razor Sharp System is $50 plus shipping. If you already have the grinder then you are good to go. If not, the grinder would be another $50. It will be the best $100 you ever spent. Your 2 blade BH's and your hunting knives will be as sharp as you want them to be. As a matter of fact, I won't be sharpening my kitchen knives with it. I think they would be too sharp.
Looks interesting! I would wonder one thing though.... It looks like it would be easy to scorn the metal if done improperly? It looks like the ticket though if done right?!! Is it easy to keep the same angle?
Waxing the grit helps keep the heat down and you don't need to apply much pressure. Keep the touch light, firm enought to do the job, but light. Probably easier keeping the angle. Watch the videos in the link, they make it look as easy as it is.
