I have a Mathews MQ32 and i am having a hard time keeping tight groups. i dont grip the bow with my hand i try to rest it against my palm so i dont torque the bow but it never seems to feel right and the string keeps hitting my forearm after i shoot. is there a better way to grip the bow or should i look into getting a smaller grip?
Hold the bow so it puts pressure on the pad below your thumb, not in the v. That will keep your wrist from bending inward.
Sometimes if the string hits your forearm after each shot, your draw length may be a tad bit too long thereby causing your elbow to bend in. Several years ago I dealt with the same issue. I had an older bow and the string had stretched over the years and actually gained nearly a half inch in draw length. I was then holding my left arm too straight instead having a slight bend as normal. I'm not sure if this is your problem, but it wouldn't hurt to check it out. Good luck and shoot straight!
That's what I was thinking too.... Most people I've seen that are expierencing arm slap are shooting a draw length a touch to long.... Also love the focus grip - got one on my Z7 - great grip!
Field and Stream did a field study, they found that bigger grips = worse shooting. Maybe try taking it off and try that focus grip or death grip or torqueless grip. Also, yea your DL might be long if it keeps hitting your wrist, mine is slightly too long but it still never hits my forearm.
