I'll preface this post by saying I'm never going to be a cook that "just knows" when food is done. You can add it to my non manly list of traits including hating beer I find myself trusting thermometers often especially when grilling chicken and pork. Problem is, every thermometer I've used was ridiculously inaccurate and SLOW. I'm looking into getting an instant read thermometer. The ThermaPen is the king of them all from the research I've done, but you pay for it (almost $100). Anyone using one they are happy with? Suggestions?

Can stick the probe in close the lid and put the display wherever you're at. Can set an alert that beeps when the temperature you want is reached. I only paid $28 4 years ago, but works flawless.
