Ok as I was grilling burgers this evening I think my grill has finally kicked the bucket. So grilling experts....im up for suggestions. Probably will stay with gas or a gas/charcole combo.

I have a Weber Genesis Silver. It's about 7 years old and it looks and works as good as the day I got it. It stays outside 365 days a year uncovered.

I had gone through a couple of "disposable" grills prior to the Weber. They only lasted a couple of years apiece.

We got one at walmart on clearance last year, it is gas on one side, charcoal on the other. I love using it. If you want a quick grill, toss it on the gas side. If you want something a little more special, you can use charcoal, lump, seasoned wood... it's really a nice grill. We paid like $70 but i think normally they're close to $200

I have been looking at this grill every time I go to the store lately. Think I am going to pick one up also but they are currently $299 at the stores around me. After seeing your post I might wait till the end of the season and see if I can get one on clearance. That is an awesome price you got it at!

Can you add a rotisserie to the charcoal side? Got to have an electric spit.

We have same grill with smokebox added to charcoal side. Lowes had it on sales last year for $199 + $65 for smokebox.

I've had gas and have had charcoal. I like the convenience of gas, but nothing beats charcoal with chunks of cherry, apple, oak or hickory mixed in (that is, in my opinion).

I have a weber, well worth the cost. Had it for two years and looks like the day I bought it. Cost maybe higher then some others but the value is much greater.

    BIG GREEN EGG

    You'll never buy another "grill"

I got an XL this past summer and built a table/stand for it. I can't tell you how much I love this thing. Lump charcoal only..........smokes like a dragon and temp stays steady as a rock. I have cooked low and slow at 200 for 16 hrs and been gone all day only to come home to a solid 200 and melt in your mouth roasts.

You can grill steaks at 600+

Pork butts, shoulder, ribs.............all melt in your mouth like butta

Chicken is simple yet amazing flavor

Turkey and hams slow and smoked?? Unreal

Pizza on a stone and it becomes a brick oven better then anything you will order out.

It just rules as an all around cooker of kick *** food.

Yeah, my next grill will be a BGE.

I worry about the size though, because sometimes I look to cook an entire meal on the grill.

Depends what your price point is.

My Uncle owns this company - http://www.tetongrills.com/

But there are a number of other cheaper models that will do what you want!

That's why I bought the XL

    Here's the specs for mine.

    Specifications:

    Grid Diameter: 24 in / 61 cm
Cooking Area: 452 sq in / 2919 sq cm
    The XLarge EGG can cook:

    2 20-pound turkeys
    24 burgers
    11 whole chickens
    12 steaks
    14 racks of ribs vertically

They also have tiered racks so you can use the vertical space as well..........full meals on an XL egg are no problem.

Here is 6 whole chickens at work

15 slabs of ribs about to go on.

Lots of room for lots of goodies.
