I hate to not be able to acknowledge who suggested using the green laser pointer to move deer off so you can climb out of the stand without getting busted but dang I used it tonight and it worked great.

If you get a young deer they may not run. They don't know to be scared yet.

Glad to hear it worked. I always wondered if it would work in the rest of the country. Anyone else?

I’ve never heard of this! Although I have no use for it, very interesting though!

Deer see green, they also see the bright green light near by them it startles them, they move off, not tails up bounding but they move.

I would think the DNR cops would have issues with you carrying a laser while hunting, real easy to mount to a bow and shoot pin point in dark. Have a friend in DNR will have to ask.

The ones I get on eBay are very cheap. You have to hold the button down for it to stay on. It would not be easy to mount either.

If it's cold they won't work unless you keep it in your pocket. I normally hold it in my hands for a few minutes to warm it up.
When I shine this at deer aim for the ground around their feet.

Well if it is not mounted to a bow there is no violation.

And that is why I use RED flashlight and RED nocturnal. I used to test this on deer in my yard. Try a red one and see what happens. Nothing. Thanks for sharing Sota

There is in Iowa. States mounted or individual laser/light emitting devices for the purpose of taking game. Which of course you are not using it for, but good luck explaining that one to the co/Dnr

    Well unless the CO frisks
I don't hunt Iowa, nor do I consider it a device for taking game, I will explain it to a judge if needed.

Talked to my DNR friend, looked into laws, Maryland allows a laser sight to be installed on legal hunting weapon , but also states the no artificial light may be cast to light a deer for the purpose of killing . Like Wesley said explaining what your doing with the laser to a DNR officer could be a hassle or could go real easy. I have snort wheezed or grunted at deer to move them along, Happy Hunting
