I just enjoy politics.. come from a family full of it and them.

My goal is never to offend.. but to enlighten people of the real problem.

The problem I have with any political debate is that we can all agree that politicians are crooked idiots.. and yet.. at the same time.. each of us are guilty of defending (at times) those same crooked idiot policies.

It's like a broken record to me.. it keeps playing over and over again.

The only time that we.. as a society advance.. is when we finally break those walls of misinformation and attack the true substance of the problem... which typically revolves around agendas of those same crooked idiot politicians and the CEO's that back them. But we must break our fragile ego's first.

I enjoy the depth of politics.. deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole.

The more you know.. the less you know.

In case anyone missed it this is a quote from the article:
And yet we keep hearing that we need to start drilling here in the USA to bring prices down. Makes me chuckle some.

How is throwing billions of dollars at useless technology, to "force innovation", at a major cost to us today going to save the earth for our children? How will they be able to enjoy this wonderful earth if they can't afford the same life as us, because we ran this country into the ground trying to force change, instead of letting it happen?

I know I didn't answer your question Mike, but I don't see a need to. We could do back and forth for days asking each other to enlighten the other. In the end, you and I know how the other feels.

I did not miss it Bruce. I just get chuckles out of getting Germ worked up and playing devil's advocate with others, just to keep a debate going.

The solution to bringing oil prices down is government take over and forcing the oil companies to keep their product here. Screw the rest of the world. :tu:

Exactly, I was just going to post this samething.

It's called Captialism, companies are going to sell their goods where they make the most money. So of course they want to drill more and sell it to the highest bidder.

    Drill baby drill:ninja:

And with the case of alternative energies, windmills for example, its our government. Errrr....us. Wait, we're paying for it twice?

    I need a Volt.

The oil is on federal land. No need for them to take over. I would just be happy if the charged the oil companies realistic royalties for allowing them to drill on federal land. Then use those royalties to cut our taxes. If we had a government that was not owned by corporations that might happen. As it is we know it won't.

I just may. The quandary is, guaranteed only 4 more years with a horrible president, or the possibility of 8 years with a horrible president. The only thing that may stop me is the idea of Obama possibly nominating someone for Supreme Court justice in the next 4 years.

If you voted for bush the second time then you have no valid reason to not for for obama a second time. Not much difference between the two.

Yes we may, but what's the payoff? You're correct Dan it can fo either way.

The payoff can be great or it may suck, but IMO we have to try, but we have to be smart. I can bet most do not even know how the Volt works, I bet most don't know it's an extended range EV. Because of who made it, GM, because they need our money to survive.

Yes I do know a lot about the Volt, by Cousin was the head Engineer on the Battery team.

Is it practical to buy a 35,000 car that goes 35-40 miles without a drop of gas(some of my friends get 50)? To some my guess is not, but to me driving a SUV for $40,000 and never using 4x4 or going of road, and just driving back and forth to work is pretty goofy to me, but to each his own.
