Elliot is rumored to receive a promotion and basically be the new GM's right hand man in a sense. IF true that no doubt means he will someday take over or that will be the resume builder to go elsewhere.
As much as I like making BG the gm, I dislike the new power structure. I do not like having a gm and head coach operating at the same peer level. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
A good choice the Packers are coming back and hell is coming with them, give Aaron a D that can be in the top 10 game over, soon to be 14 time world champions.
From an article: Along the way to his head-coaching job, Pettine was part of some of the NFL’s top defenses. From ’09-12, the Jets ranked 1st, 3rd, 5th and 8th in overall defense. Ryan received most of the credit for the Jets’ great defenses, but a Cleveland.com story said that Ryan turned over much of the responsibility of the defense to Pettine after the 2009 season. In 2013, after Pettine went to Buffalo, the Bills ranked 10th in defense. The Ryan-Pettine system is pressure-based and they use both 3-4 and 4-3 concepts, meaning players must understand both. There is a lot of flexibility to change game plans week to week, but according to an NFL play-caller who has faced those defenses, players have to be flexible and smart.
LOL.....could give you countless examples of coordinators that excel at that role but failed as a head coach or had a bad stint with a terrible team. I would venture to say that even Bellichek would have struggled with Manziel and Austin as his QBs...just sayin. Pettine has a proven D Coordinator job....now whether that plays through again in GB is yet to be seen. Honestly, I believe we have the athletic and flexible guys somewhat already...but Dom Capers gets roped into the same game plan all the time it seems and play gets stagnant. I still feel our Safeties will devour the concept of new approaches sometimes weekly...LBs like Martinez and Perry and even Clay if he sticks around could really excel at this...add some pieces and King keeps progressing outside (perhaps Demarius has finally matured) and you never know. Hesitantly hopeful is where I'm realistically at presently.
With Aaron Rodgers they are a perennial deep playoff team. What does that say about Aaron Rodgers? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
