Never stated that I said to sell them and donate the money to a group. I am 100% positive all these caring NFL(angry) fans have been doing so all along.
that would be a great idea. Since people not going to the game, does nothing to the NFL or teams since they tickets have already been paid for. I don't have tickets so I an out.
Why? Why do they need to do things different than what has been done for as long as we have been living? Doing something different is making a statement/Protest.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20829185/green-bay-packers-want-their-fans-link-arms-anthem That explains why.
Again, why do they have to do something different show unity? Isn't it unity for everybody to stand, face the flag during the anthem as normal. Seems like they are adding to the division whether that is their intent or not.
That's their whole point of this... A peaceful protest to make a statement about inequality, racial justice, etc. They are simply using the anthem as a vehicle to make said statement/protest more visable to the public (which has now been forgotten about by the majority of the public and the focus is now on the flag/anthem).
There lies the problem. They are not simply trying to Unify. They are trying to make a protest statement with the national anthem. Which issue ware we unifying under? If they are unifying in support of Kaepernick, or Bennett, they are unifying under something I disagree with. If they want to protest that, do it some other time, not during the national anthem.
You will argue all day long with someone and it's not going to change something... You view it exactly that way and have that opinion on it, and others view it as a perfectly fine way to get their point across. The first amendment is a beautiful thing. I'll also post this again - I do not think them kneeling during the anthem is a good way to go about this. When I turn on football, I want to watch football. I do not want politics involved with this.
My point was simply that they are still making a protest statement, just trying to disguise it as some "unifying event". I will actually even give you a like. Its just a discussion.
No Protesting!!!!!!!! Where do you think you live!!!!! Trump voters don't like facts, LOL Next you'll be a liberal
Rogers wants fans to all hold hands in unity---what about those that want to place their hand over their heart as is the custom----this is only going to lead to trouble , Let a California kid tell us what to do, this is what you get, Rogers, just stick to q b ing
I can see that you are very upset by this issue (by the many, many, many Facebook comments I see) and obviously know you are enraged that this is happening. That's the thing, I actually don't see my opinions as facts. I've been open in this entire thread, stating I don't agree with what they are doing, but do understand that they have the right under the first amendment to peacefully protest like they are doing (and a vast majority of the coaches, NFL owners, and players sure seem to think the same way). Carry on.
The anthem is not a vehicle for perceived slights on some social issue it is a time to show respect the people who have sacrificed for the rest of us.
I don't give a $hit about football but a heavy dinner gave me "time" to read some new threads. And this^^^^^ is true from bag boy to boardroom. Listening to football players for politics is like watching the daily show for news ( for those that need help distinguishing that's a comedy show & football players are paid to play a GD game)
I've said that I agree with that. The people who have sacrificed for us are protecting the ability to exercise our first amendment rights. That's what they are doing, exercising their first amendment rights. We may not agree with it, buts it the road they chose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
