The guy can sing anything he wants... And I'd say 75% of the time, he sounds better than the originals.

he has got some chops, But there are a million unsigned guys and bands out there that will never get the chance
with the way modern radio is set up and with itunes and the sirruis, pandora a new artist will never get paid even if he gets a break. I see some of the biggest bands playing small venues anymore here in st.louis it's a shame.Bands that cant get on the radio anymore.
Best of luck to the guy.

He and his brother have a record (or several I believe). They're actually pretty well established.

unfortunately doing covers wont get ya anywhere these days you got to have your own style and words past that it's all karaoke to me. I would like to here some of there original work though.

If you watch american idol this season there is a guy that has stolen dave mathews whole style singing and playing if dave mathews did not exist i would think he had a chance... but he does, Really i cant believe the guy has made it to the final ten.

Dave Mathews called and he wants his soul back:lol:

    Very talented yes...
    But something more is necessary:

    Marketing, marketing marketing!!!

Guess what Garth Brooks' major was? Many more talented guys out there but he knew how to sell himself.

Again, they had their own record deal, and released one or two albums of strictly independent work, but they're now on an independent label.

You do have a point, but in reality, covers, collaborations created to restructure old songs, etc. all seem to be the big thing lately.

The music business is strange one, that's for sure. I would gladly see Boyce Avenue make it big given their talents rather than listen to most of the garbage being thrown forth on today's radio.

I mean, we don't need any more of this crap:

As far as covers, dudes got some skills. Too bad he wont make radio without a pink dress and facepaint.

sorry my post was about the guy that has took karaoke so far he has become the artist...it's scary to watch this guy.

Pretty easy..people signing cover's and trying to sound just like the artist the created it, karaoke singers are fine for a bar but not on the radio.

Modern radio is full of the people that won idol. But there no longer doing covers either

Do you think it's possible that he grew up idolizing Dave Mathews? He's about the right age to be heavily influenced by him. Similar to how a ball player stands in the box like his favorite MLB player or how practices his 3-pt shot like a great outside shooter. I wouldn't say it's karaoke, maybe Dave Mathews is just his idol. Kinda like that firedancer sticker you have on the back of your vehicle.
