Most would not call this a problem, but I'm thinking long term, as in years down the road. Have 4 trailcams on my property (336 acres) and have at least 55 identified bucks running around. I've posted a couple on here, and my avatar is also one we've seen a bunch. The problem is there don't seem to be many does. I know it's hard to differentiate between does, but the quantity of bucks to does is 2:1 on the trailcams. I'm just thinking long term and am wondering if I should be doing things different. Haven't harvested does, only mature bucks the last 4 years, and have actually passed on what would qualify as a trophy to P&Y or Booners. Now I'm seeing lots of great bucks, and love to see them, but I'm wondering if all the bucks will drive the does away. I know the bucks will be in search of them in a couple of months, and that's got me thinking also. Any ideas? Again, I'm thinking long term for the property and health of the herd.
Thats funny Ive never heard of hunter saying he is seeing too many bucks but for there to be that many bucks around there have t be alot of does try switching up the areas you have your trail cameras they have to be in there some where!!!!!!
