I got the call last night from the Florida land owner I had sent a second letter to ask for permission to hunt. I have been given the green light to hunt his 62 acre piece of land. And while talking to him he hinted to me his son may need someone to help thin the herd on his farm in Georgia. So I may have just opened and little door to possibly have a few Georgia hunts. I did not push the Georgia questions, but I told him to give me a call anytime he comes up to Tennessee so I can formally meet him. I do not want to push the Georgia thing because in reality I would probably not make enough trips to be any assistance. I tread pretty lightly on other peoples land so I can keep the relationship going. He had told me no a few months ago, but I wanted to ask once more before the season opened. I sent my drivers license and my hunting license and liability waiver and it worked. I am so freaking pumped on this piece of land. Here is two that are on this piece of land.
Awesome! Congrats, and be sure to thank him/ send Christmas cards/ and some deer sticks once you get one or something. Hope you bag one of those bucks.
Can't beat that. Good to hear that there are still some folks out there willing allow people to hunt their land.
S.McArthur...how did you go about finding the farm from TN? Im curious bc i am interested in finding some private land to hunt for next year. Thanks for the ideas ahead of time!
Way to go... congratulations The way you went about it was awesome... shows maturity, respect and responsibleness on your part.
I had hunted the land a few years ago until it went up for sale. I knew the area pretty well already. I use the tax assesment website to find owners names and addresses and just generally find areas. I'm not sure how other states do their tax records but the TN is pretty easy to work as long as you know the exact spelling of the road. It has a map and you can hide property lines and zoom in and out. Gltomp, thanks. I so my best to treat others how I would want to be treated. I've heard a saying like that somewhere.
Land is in Tennessee, land owner lives in Florida. As much as I would like hunt hogs, I would rather they not be in this area.
Yeah, I thought the ground was in FL to. The fact the you went the extra mile to find who the landowner is to me speaks to how you will treat his land. Nice work and congrats.
