Landon thats some awesome advise there bro from these guys ;) Ill add just one thing. If you know where those Big mature bucks were taken around you, then after the season get out there and look at those spots and try and put the pieces together and ask your self WHY, did this guy or that guy do good in these spots. Your best scouting is going to be done after the season is over. You can relax out there, and really really get to know that area. Believe me, it makes it so much easier to put the pieces together when your scouting after the season ;) Im sitting on 800 acres. It used to seem SO HUGH before I knew it very well. NOW it dosent seem so big because I know it very very well ;)

wow...first let me say thank you to all of you guys..that was way more than I expected. Second..this is my 21 st deer season and my 19th bow season. as of this week, I took my 32nd deer with a bow. Im greatful for the success I have had. In all, I believe I have taken 6 bucks 2.5 -4.5 yrs old in those 19 yrs. Im not sure of the ages but from I have seen and had people look at, I would say the oldest was 4.5 yrs old. Please don't think I posted this to fish for back slaps. I honestly felt this way the other night..I just get down sometimes when bucks are being dropped in my woods underneath my nose and I can't even see them, let alone kill one. It just makes me wonder what I do wrong. I really don't want to sound like I want to take my ball and go home, I want exactly what I got...great advice. This year has been fairly decent for me, but it could be better. My main thing, I just want to understand why Im hunting a certain area and not just sitting the "because"..I do buy into the doe groups, and now that I see what you guys are saying it will be something I do..the new property has been tough on me, but I will not quit, in fact it has lit a fire inside me like never before. Im already thinking about next yr and winter time scouting. I will and do take everyone's advice with respect and consideration. PLEASE..PLEASE...do not think Im crying or pouting...I honestly lack confidence in myself ...I know I can kill deer...I just don't know how to kill the mature deer as good as I do the younger ones. I have the bucks on every piece of land I hunt, it's all private and low pressure...I just need to learn more about mature deer behavior and how terrain and does relate to it...
