I live on our familys 125 farm, and we have a small 2 acre pond, with fly rod in hand. I was a little skeptical on how I would do, but it was such a nice evening to just fish a fly. Ended up catch around 10 nice bluegills and a couple bass. Great evening! Anyone else fish freshwater with a flyrod? It's absolutely addicting.
gave my second attempt two years ago with a fly rod and i officially am terrible at it! i can say with conviction that i tried (6 hrs) all the while the guy "teaching" me was catching fish left and right. i hate you fly rod, hats off to whoever does it!!!!!!!!
oh im equally terribe with baitcasters too! bird's nest and the whole deal! pretty much all open water fishing. if i cant drill a hole thru it the fish are safe from me!
Yep, our cabin has a fully stocked pond (Browns, Bows, and Palominos). I love going up there and throwing a #14 Tan Caddis. I'm not much of a fly fisherman, yet. I always find it hard to make time to go out this time of year.
I'm a big fan of tossing a fly. I was able to catch a couple Browns last week out in Wyoming with Dubs. Haven't been out here in WI for Bluegills and Crappies yet, its been too cold. Next week I'll be in Ontario at camp using the 9wt and 6-9" streamers for some Pike. That's always a blast!
