With the weather so nice here yesterday and the kids getting done with school at 11 I decided to pick them up and head straight to the cabin for a little ride around on the ATVs. Not long into the ride, while in the clover section of our field, I noticed the the beautiful sight every shed hunter loves to see, a base sticking out of the snow. It didn't take long to notice the other side barely sticking through as well. After at few quick ATL pics, I had Wyatt start digging it out. His 2 year old sister even got in on the fun. (Wyatt didn't realize there was another shed there and his left foot was on it) Turns out it was a matched set for a buck we only had a few pics of in December. Hopefully he's finding the improvements we're making to our land to his liking and will take up residence. Next we decided to check out one of our plots that still had turnips in it. When we got there Wyatt said, "Hey, there's a shed!" I was a little surprised that he saw it before me.....and a little jealous. Not bad for a kid that just turned 5 a few weeks ago. I don't think I found my first until I was at least 16. After he found the first side he was walking all around the plot saying, "The other side has to be here somewhere!" Unfortunately, it wasn't and according to the trail cameras the buck didn't drop the other side for another 2 days. The rest of the day was great, even though we didn't find any more bone. Nothing beats hanging out with my two favorite little people on a beautiful winter day. Now, if only I could get them both to look at the camera at the same time.
Thats awesome Dan! Sounds like a great time and a great way to get the kids outside enjoying the outdoors. That 11 should be real nice next year! Good luck with him.
Wow Dan! What an awsome set of sheds! RIGHT NEXT TO ONE ANOTHER! I'm jelouse in a good way! Cute kids. I like the boys John Deere hat! I'm a fan myself.
Awesome Dan! Just think how fast you could cover an area if you had like 13 more kids! Better get busy.
