Ive been pestering my buddy to bow hunt with me and when I bought a new bow I gave him a good deal on my old one. Well tonight we sat in a double set and he shot his first deer with a bow. Actually missed the first shot at 12 yds and about 20 minutes later he came back and my buddy smoked him at 20 yds. The deer ran maybe 100 yds. I was so pumped! Not a big deer but I will always remember it.

That's awesome! Always a good moment when helping a friend to bag a deer.

Good work! That's about as good a shot as you can make. Congrats to both of you.

Shot wasn't as good as it looks. That the exit. He was slightly quartering away slightly. His entrance was through the liver amd opposite side lung. Cant complain as he didnt go far. Got it in the fridge now and need to go to bed. I was pumped to have been in the stand with him and talk him through it. Wish I had the same when I was starting out.

Awesome Dan! Introducing my buddy to deer hunting has been one of the greatest things. Being there for his first kill, a doe with his bow, was one of my favorite times ever hunting!

That's a good shot! Hit two vital organs and you had two holes in the hide to leave a blood trail with. Could have been worse shot placement as in a high entry into the lungs and no exit due to the arrow being buried in the shoulder.

Hopefully your buddy will now be hooked on bow hunting.
